Dr Marie-Claire Reville, Clinical Psychologist
What therapy approaches do you use?

Work is rooted in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), including specialist CBT for eating disorders and Family-Based Treatment for Anorexia Nervosa. Also trained in EMDR for trauma, with further training underway in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) for relational and long-standing patterns of difficulty. You can read more about how I work and my training and background.

What do you specialise in?

Eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, bingeing, overeating, ARFID), trauma and PTSD, anxiety and OCD, depression and low mood, neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism), diabetes and physical health, and complex or long-term conditions. The full list is on the Therapy page, and you are welcome to get in touch to ask whether I am the right fit.

Do you work with children, or only adults?

Only adults. Lumis is for adults, and in my NHS work I no longer work with children either. Earlier in my career I worked with children and young people, including at Great Ormond Street Hospital. More about who I work with is on the Therapy page.

Do you offer online or in-person sessions?

Both. In-person sessions are held in a quiet, comfortable room via Circle Psychology Partners; online sessions are available for anyone who prefers or needs to work remotely. The address and a little about the room are under Where we meet.

What can I expect in an appointment?

Sessions are a collaboration, and you are always in the driving seat. This is how they usually unfold:

  • Getting to know each other. We start by making space for your story. What are you struggling with, and what would you most like to change? There’s no rush and no wrong answers.
  • Exploring possibilities together. I’ll share some ideas about how we might work toward your goals, and together we figure out whether those ideas feel right for you. We might explore pros and cons of options so that you can make informed choices about what you want.
  • Making space for what comes up. Throughout our work, we hold room for your thoughts and feelings, including the difficult ones. Trust can build gradually, and we grow it together through commitment to your recovery.
  • Checking in along the way. We review regularly. Where are we? What’s working? Where do we want to go next? This keeps our work meaningful and responsive to you.

There is more under What to expect in our sessions on the Therapy page, and you are welcome to get in touch with any questions before you book.

How much does a session cost?

£150 per 50 minutes, across all services. There are more details under booking therapy sessions.

Do you accept health insurance?

Yes — recognised by Bupa, WPA, Aviva, Cigna Global Health Benefits, AXA, and Vitality. See the Contact section for provider numbers to check with your insurer. The insurers are also shown on the home page.

How do I book an appointment?

Bookings are made directly with Circle Psychology Partners, who can also confirm current availability and waiting list information. If you have a question first, get in touch and I will reply within two working days.

Are the downloadable resources a substitute for therapy?

No. The worksheets, the app, and the card deck are reflective tools for exploration and creative expression — not therapy in themselves, and not designed to replace it. The priced resource library is intended for clinicians and trainees to use alongside their own client work. You can explore the Resources page, the Portion Perception app and the Dear Animal card deck.

Do you offer a crisis service?

No — Dr Marie-Claire Reville does not provide a crisis service. If you're in crisis, please contact your GP, NHS 111, Samaritans on 116 123 (UK & ROI), or in an emergency, call 999 or go to your nearest A&E.

Can I leave feedback about my therapy?

Yes — current and former clients can leave feedback confidentially via an anonymous survey. It genuinely helps shape the practice.

Do you offer clinical supervision?

Yes — one-to-one sessions for qualified practitioners and trainees, online or in-person, with frequency and focus negotiated to fit your practice. Group supervision is also available. More is on the Supervision page, or you can get in touch to talk it through.

I'm a current or former supervisee — can I give feedback?

Yes — current and former supervisees can share feedback confidentially via an anonymous survey. It genuinely helps shape supervision practice.

How do I access the priced resource library?

Enter your name and a few professional details once on the Resources page — access is then remembered on that device, and unlocks the same details on the clinician vault too. It's open to clinicians, trainees, students, and supervisees alike, not restricted to a specific registration status. You can also browse the book reviews.

Do you offer CPD, training, or public speaking?

Yes — structured CPD for clinicians, plus talks, training and academic lecturing for organisations, schools, universities, and community groups. See Corporate, Education & Community for topics and lecturing history. You will find academic lecturing, workshops and community talks and reflective practice groups there.

I attended a talk or training session — can I share my experience?

Yes — attendees of talks, training, or lectures can share their experience. Unlike the therapy feedback survey, this one isn't anonymous, since with your consent it may be used as a testimonial. More about talks and training is on the For Organisations page.

What are your qualifications?

Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy), HCPC registered (PYL039705), and BABCP registered (00001033116). Full training history and research publications are on the About page. Recognition by insurers and professional bodies is shown on the home page.

Is Lumis a registered practice?

Lumis is a trading name of Lumis Enterprise Ltd, registered in Scotland. Dr Marie-Claire Reville is individually registered with the HCPC and BABCP, and the practice is registered with the ICO (registration number ZC154256). Company and registration details are in the footer of every page and under practical information on the home page.

Are you open to research collaboration?

Yes. Research background includes a doctoral thesis and published papers in clinical neuropsychology and eating disorders — see the Research section and ResearchGate profile. Enquiries about collaboration are genuinely welcome by email. You can also get in touch directly.

How is my personal data handled?

Full detail is in the Privacy Policy — in short, this website collects only what's needed to send a resource, give you access to the clinician library, respond to an enquiry or receive your feedback, using Netlify as a named processor to do that, and Payhip to handle any paid purchase, and never sells data or shares it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.

Still wondering?

Can’t find your question?

Send it over and I’ll reply within two working days. I’ll add it here if it will help others.
